Excerpts from the chat:
How do you think the audiences will connect to you as Clary Fray?
I was the first choice to play the character of Clary Fray. I was very excited to play the role of main protagonist. Cassandra gave the thumbs up to my casting as I quite look like Clary Fray as Cassandra had imagined while creating the character as told by her.
How is this role different from what you’ve done in your career before?
When I was cast for the role of Clary, I was just 2 films old and playing the character of Clary Fray is a major challenge for me as there are a lot of expectations from the whole team to do justice to the character. I have been reading the Mortal Instruments series and am a huge fan of it. The beauty of Cassandra’s writing is such that you cannot stop reading it once started. This has helped me to do justice to the character of Clary Fray.
Did you adopt any kind of method-acting techniques to prepare for the role?
Yes, I like to get into the character of the role I am playing. I believe in transformation and being completely absorbed in the world of her character when I am playing it.
