Hollywood films are increasingly being shot in the country
Hollywood film? Chalo India!
Whch country seems to be fast becoming a Hollywood favourite? No guesses, it’s India! Of course,
Hollywood has often explored the country earlier as well when films like James Bond’s Octopussy, Bourne Supremacy and The City of Joy were shot here. But recent years have seen a spate of Hollywood production houses looking for Indian locations to shoot their films.

A Mighty Heart: Slaim American journalist Daniel Pearl’s story found a connect with India as major portions of it were shot in Pune and Mumbai. People were most excited to spot Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as they shot for the film.
Slumdog Millionaire: Danny Boyle’s Oscar winning film was filmed on location on the streets of Mumbai. An all-Indian cast including Dev Patel, Freida Pinto and Anil Kapoor, the film captured the slums of Mumbai realistically.
Trishna: Freida Pinto is currently in Mumbai shooting for Michael Winterbottom’s film Trishna, where she stars opposite British rapper Riz Ahmed. Earlier, Michael has shot in Rajasthan for a few scenes for films like Code 46 and A Mighty Heart.
Eat Pray Love: Julia Roberts was in India to shoot for her film that was shot in India at the Ashram Hari Mandir in Pataudi, Haryana. The actress even wore a saree for one of the scenes.
Dark Knight Rises: The cast of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is in Jodhpur to shoot for the film. They have been busy shooting for the film near Mehrangarh Fort.
Sold: X Files star Gillian Anderson is expected to be in India next month for the shoot of her film Sold. The film based on human trafficking is rumoured to be shot in India and Nepal.
