Heather Graham: 'They Will Kill You' is very fun while also being disturbing
Heather Graham is back on the big screen, this time with her role in 'They Will Kill You', a genre mash-up that’s equal parts horror, action and dark comedy. Set within the Virgil, a luxury New York residence, the film slowly unveils the sinister underbelly. As the enigmatic Sharon, Graham gets to play in the shadows of this twisted world, where Zazie Beetz, leads the charge as a fierce outsider taking on a hidden cult. In a statement to ETimes, she opens up about what drew her to the script, the physical demands of the action sequences and teaming up with Beetz.

Heather Graham on the film's script

Reflecting on her first reaction to the script, Graham said, "The film is scary, it's funny, there's a lot of action. It's a very creative, cool world." Adding that director Kirill Sokolov's storytelling voice felt distinct, she said, "He has a very unique voice, this world that he's created. I really didn't know what was going to happen next. He's telling a super interesting story, and it's very fun while also being disturbing."Graham noted that the comedic elements ultimately became one of her favourite aspects of the film. Set in the fictional Virgil, the film builds its tension through atmosphere as much as action. “There’s something about it that's very fancy, but there's an eeriness to it and a creepiness to it, and things are not as they seem,” Graham explained.
Teasing a darker force at play within the building, she adds, "There's been some mysterious disturbances, and we are a cult that has been existing for years, and basically, Zazie's character, Asia, tries to take us down."

Heather Graham on her action-packed role

Graham, who plays the enigmatic Sharon, described her character as "a really interesting, cool villain that has a very fun side," and teased her dynamic with Kevin, played by Tom Felton. The film also marks one of the actress' most physically demanding roles to date. "In my career, I've done some fights and some stunts, but nothing compared to this movie," she said, pointing to the "long fight scenes that are really intense and really dramatic."

Heather Graham on working with Zazie Beetz

Praising her co-star, Beetz, she said, as “an amazing actress” with a compelling screen presence. "Zazie's an amazing actress. She's very beautiful and charismatic. I think she has a wildness to her. That was one of the things that Kirill said was why he wanted to cast her. And she's fun, and a cool heroine. And a total badass in this film."'They Will Kill You' releases in cinemas in India today, March 27, 2026.
