Harry Styles reflects on Liam Payne's death: 'It's so difficult to lose a friend'
Over a year after Liam Payne's tragic demise, his One Direction bandmate, Harry Styles opened up about the emotional toll of the shocking loss. In his latest interview, the singer, who is releasing his fourth studio album, 'Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally' got candid about losing his friend and dealing with grief.
Speaking with Zane Lowe, Styles opened up about dealing with the loss of his friend and bandmate. Talking about the period following Payne’s death, and the weight of public expectation on him, he shared, "I think there was a period when he passed away where I really struggled with acknowledging how strange it is to have people kind of like own part of your grief in a way. I have such strong feelings around my friend passing away and then suddenly being made aware of there's maybe like a desire from other people of you to convey that in some way or it means you're not feeling what you're feeling or something."
Calling Payne a "super special person," Styles concluded, "It's really sad."

Styles added that Payne’s sudden passing in October 2024 prompted a period of self-reflection. He shared, "It was a really important moment for me in terms of taking a look at my life and being able to say to myself like, ‘Okay, what do I want to do with my life?
