'Harry Potter’ star Tom Felton remembers working with late ‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman: ‘There was very little acting needed’

Tom Felton and the late Chadwick Boseman once collaborated and co-starred on the film ‘Message From the King’ in 2016. During one of his recent interviews, Felton opened up about working on the film and even talked about what it was like to work with the actor up close.

In a recent interview held with The Guardian, Felton delved deep into ‘Message From the King’, and shared that Boseman was “cut from a different cloth” and even called him a professional, through and through.

The thriller has a lot of action-packed scenes, one of which the ‘Harry Potter’ actor recalled and talked about. He shared that, “The ferocity with which Chadwick threw me into a car! There was very little acting needed, because he delightfully beat the s--- out of me.”

The scene that the actor was referring to was about when Boseman’s character confronts Felton’s character, who is a drug dealer, and is also related to his sister’s demise.




The story itself follows Jacob King, a South African man, and his journey all the way to LA. He is a man on a mission and is seeking revenge for the demise of his estranged sister. The film was directed by none other than Fabrice Du Welz. Other than Felton and Boseman, it also starred Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, Natalie Martinez, and Alfred Molina.

He also compared Chadwick's and his transformation for the film to Andy Serkis.

Serkis and Felton worked together on the film ‘The Rise of Planet of the Apes.’ He talked about how the actor and director would also transform into a “beast” when the word ‘Action’ would be shouted on set. Serkis played the role of Ceaser the Ape in the film, and had a scene where he was dragging Felton’s character across he floor.
