Goodfellas

'Goodfellas' is a timeless classic of Martin Scorsese which revolves around the rise and fall of a New York gangster. The 1990 crime-drama which stars Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci in pivotal roles is touted as one of Scorsese's best. Not only that but it is also one of the most celebrated mobster films in English cinema just like the iconic 'The Godfather'. 'Goodfellas' is one such masterpiece that cinema lovers still keep revisiting year after year just to admire Scorsese's art.

Taxi Driver

One of Martin Scorsese's career's early works, 'Taxi Driver' manages to grab the audience's attention from the very first opening scene where he tries to capture New York's nightlife in a misty frame. The film revolves around the life of a war veteran played by Robert De Niro, who tries to make his way in the big city. The slow camerawork and Scorsese's idea of his main character's minute nuances is what makes 'Taxi Driver' a masterpiece which is a must-watch for all.

The Departed

The talented birthday boy, who has been nominated nine times for the Academy Award for Best Director, finally bagged the prestigious honour with his 2006 crime-thriller 'The Departed'. The film features an ensemble star cast comprising of Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and many others. Despite being a remake of 'Infernal Affairs', 'The Departed' witness critical and commercial success due to Martin Scorsese's cinematic vision and excellent storytelling capabilities.

Gangs Of New York

Another historic crime drama helmed by Martin Scorsese 'Gangs Of New York' which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis and Cameron Diaz is sure to leave you on the edge of your seat. Scorsese, who took nearly two decades developing the project until he finally came out with it in 2002. While many criticized the film for its story, it received positive reviews from critics and was even nominated for ten Oscars at the 75th Academy Awards as well.
