The 77th Golden Globe Awards came to a close with the war epic '1917' clinching the Best Picture- Drama and Sam Mendes winning the Golden Globe for Best Director. The show that took place at the luxury Beverly Hills hotel saw 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood' taking home three awards of the five nominations that included Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and wins for lead actor Brad Pitt who won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture and director Quentin Tarantino winning Best Screenplay - Motion Picture.

The biopic 'Rocketman', based on British pop icon Elton John, also won two awards on Sunday evening including Best Actor, Musical Or Comedy that went to Taron Egerton and Best Original Song- Motion Picture awarded to Bernie Taupin and Elton John for 'I'm Gonna Love Me Again'. Tieing in with two wins was 'Joker' that won leading man Joaquin Phoenix his second Golden Globe for Best Actor-Drama and also won Hildur Guðnadóttir her award for Best Original Score - Motion Picture.
