With Top Gun: Maverick’s popularity all over the world, Glen Powell, who became known for his role as ‘Hangman’ is also enjoying global recognition. Powell recently revealed in The Jennifer Hudson Show that he is now among the lucky few who are now part of Tom Cruise’s famous Christmas tradition of sending out Bundt cakes to actors, producers, directors and others that Cruise formed a close association with over the years.
So, what’s so special about this Christmas cake tradition? Powell explains, "It’s a very famous thing. If you’ve worked with Tom Cruise, or done a Tom Cruise movie you get this Cruise cake and over the course of time it’s turned into this global operation where every Christmas he’ll send out, I don't know how many, could be thousands, I have no idea how many cakes go out, but it’s the most delicious cake you’ve ever had. It’s like a coconut bundt cake.”
Powell went on to add that his friends start asking from the first week of December itself, ‘Hey, has it arrived yet?’ and when it does, Powell now throws a Cruise cake party. He invites his closest friends and family over to have a bite of the famous Bundt cake. That’s a ‘maverick’ way of spreading good cheer around a la Tom Cruise style!
