After tasting success with two spin-off web series - 'House of the Dragon' and 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', reports on Tuesday confirm that a new 'Game of Thrones' feature film is officially in the works.
'Game of Thrones' film in the works
As per a report on The Wrap, Warner Bros. is developing a film in the ever-expanding 'GOT' franchise. Beau Willimon, best known for his work as the showrunner of 'House of Cards' and a writer on 'Andor', is reportedly writing the screenplay. Although plot details are under wraps, it has been confirned that the project is in development.
Page Six Hollywood previously reported that the film could centre on Aegon I Targaryen, the legendary conqueror who forged the Targaryen dynasty. However, there has been no official clarification on the same.
'Game of Thrones' spin-offs in the works
The project is now the seventh production based on the Targaryen lineage. Currently, ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3 is set to premiere in June. Meanwhile, a play titled, ‘The Mad King’ Roberts Rebellion also lines up for its debut this July or August. Following the success of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, Season 2 has officially been greenlit for its premiere in 2027. As per reports, ‘Aegon's Conquest’ is also in the works with Mattson Tomlin of 'The Batman: Part II' attached as writer. An animated series titled ‘Nine Voyages’ is also in development while ‘Nymeria: Ten Thousand Ships’ is being scripted by Eboni Booth.

Over the years, 'Game of Thrones' spin-off series, including 'Bloodmoon' or 'The Long Night', 'Snow' a Jon Snow spinoff, Flea Bottom on the lives of the people in King's Landing and 'Doom of Valyria' were announced. However, the series was eventually called or shelved.
