Hollywood director wants to make actress the face of peace.
WhyIndo-Pak? Because Schnabel’s film Miral is about strife between Israel andPalestine — two countries in constant conflict, much like the Asianneighbours, and the filmmaker wants to talk about how the two countries can moveforward and leave their history of war behind. And why Freida? Because she isthe face of India in the West and could be the voice of the youth over theIndo-Pak issue. Schnabel is still in the planning stage of this drive that will see Freida and his girlfriend Rula Jebreal (author of the novel The Road of Flowers that he adapted into Miral) head to India. The film has a touching story that revolves around the life of a character named Hind Husseini and narrates the protagonist’s effort to set up an orphanage in Jerusalem after Palestine was partitioned in 1948 and Israel was created. The movie is trying to chart out a global peace initiative with Freida as the face of it. Follow us on Twitter for more stories
