'Fly Me to the Moon' trailer: Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum orchestrate a fake moon landing in director Greg Berlanti's comedy

In a first, Hollywood stars Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum are teaming up to take audiences into outer space in their upcoming comedy-drama 'Fly Me To the Moon'.

Set against the backdrop of NASA's Apollo 11 moon mission, the film promises a blend of sharp humour, gripping drama and some flirtatious scenes between Scar Jo and Channing that will leave anyone blushing.

In the film directed by Greg Berlanti, Johansson stars as Kelly Jones, a savvy marketing expert enlisted to overhaul NASA's public image, while Tatum takes on the role of Cole Davis, the launch director of the moon mission.

As the duo navigates the complexities of their respective roles, tension builds and sparks fly, adding an extra layer of excitement to the mission. Adding the comical spin to the film is the White House tasking Jones with a mission of her own - to orchestrate a fake moon landing - complete with actors, a production budget and a set that doubles up as the moon.


Penned by Rose Gilroy, with Bill Kirstein and Keenan Flynn contributing to the story, 'Fly Me To the Moon' was initially titled 'Project Artemis'. The film underwent significant developments before landing Berlanti as director, following Jason Bateman's departure due to creative differences. Additionally, Tatum joined the cast opposite Johansson after Chris Evans withdrew from the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Nick Dillenburg, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Christian Zuber, Donald Elise Watkins, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson, the film is set to launch in theatres in India on July 12, 2024.
