We’ve compiled some of the most watchable films you can catch with your sis/bro. There’s one in here for every age and every kind. Which one will you pick this Raksha Bandhan?
Hare Rama Hare Krishna
The film saw a brother and sister separated by a divorce between their feuding parents. Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman starred in it.
Why watch: The music and great performances all around. It’s immensely watchable, despite several dramatic moments and subplots.
Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya
Since their parents passed away when they were very young, an overly protective brother (Arbaaz Khan) has ensured that his sis (Kajol) remained insulated from the outside world.
1x1 polls
She wants to fly the coop and eventually falls for a rich slacker from the city (Salman, Arbaaz’s real-life brother). The guy comes from a broken home. When the brother and the boyfriend meet, it’s fireworks.
Why Watch: The film was a runaway at the box office. It’s likeable, funny in parts and can be watched with the family as well.

Josh
A goon can’t stand it that his sister has fallen for an educated bloke from another community. But that's not what riles him the most. Bloke is the brother of his enemy. Things fall apart way before they get better.
Why Watch: The film is a cracker of a masala flick in the first half but loses pace in the
second. Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai make for one of the unlikeliest bro-sis pairs. Music was fun... at the time.
Children Of Heaven
Ali was supposed to repair his sister’s shoes but loses them on the way home. Guilty, he decides to share his shoes with her. How soon before the pair is worn out! Also, times are bleak and they can’t afford a new pair.
Why Watch: Immense repeat value. Superb performances from the children cast. Touching tale that shows childhood not
losing innocence even in trying times.
My Sister’s Keeper
A family’s drifting apart as an overprotective mother tries to keep her leukemia-sticken daughter alive by giving birth to another daughter whose ‘donations’ keep her sister alive. The younger sister, in time, tells her mom she’s had enough and wants rights to her own body and sues for medical emancipation. Can a sibling be as cruel? Or is there another truth bubbling under the surface? There’s also a dyslexic brother in this mix
Why Watch: Probably the ‘heaviest’ film of the lot, this Jodi Picault adaptation was a decent flick on a family picking up the pieces.
Zathura
Something on the lines of Jumanji, it involves an elder sister being forced to babysit her brothers. They find a board game and start playing. An inter-galactic journey begins and the sister is none-too-happy about it.
Why Watch: A leave-your-brains-at-home movie, it’s a decent home video to watch with your sibling.
The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
The Pevensie children walk through a guardian’s wardrobe and enter a world quite unlike their own. There’s a talking lion and an evil witch fighting for control of the land of Narnia and they get caught up in the mess. Also, their coming is foretold and they have to quickly pick sides.
Why Watch: One of that year’s best-loved films. Must-watch if you are in the mood for sibling revelry.
The Incredibles
When Mr Incredible and Elastigirl married, they never thought they’d have to hide away as normal people. But they have to. The older children — Dash and Violet — find out when their father is kidnapped and they stow away when their mother attempts a search-and-
rescue.
Why Watch: Why not? It’s a great superhero animation flick on a family keeping aside their differences... to save the world!
