Fidel Castro's daughter supports James Franco's casting as her father in 'Alina of Cuba'
According to the sources, she is also proud that "The project is almost entirely Latino, both in front and behind the camera."
Welcome my travel partners. Today let's immerse into the musical realm of Damien Chazelle’s musical drama film ‘Whiplash’. We will be following the ambitious young jazz drummer Miles Teller and several other interesting characters in the realm and check out the possibilities of the film being remade in Mollywood. Over to Simon.

#Simon says, “This will be our sophomore adventure into a musical realm after our journey into the Hollywood hit film ‘La La Land’. Surprisingly both the films are made by the same director Damien Chazelle. Kindly pass me the tickets as ETimes presents the 36th episode of #Whatif ‘Whiplash’ was made in Mollywood.”

#Simon says,” Today marks the birthday of the young and talented Mollywood actor Dulquer Salmaan and guess what? We have roped him in for the Mollywood remake of ‘Whiplash’ to play the lead Jazz drummer character Andrew Neiman. Dulquer has a knack to perform such kind of inspirational roles and it's sure that he will reprise Andrew in the Mollywood remake flawlessly.”

#Simon says, “Finally the day has come for the fans to see both dad and son sharing screen space for the first time, and that too for the remake of a well-crafted movie like ‘Whiplash’. Terence Fletcher is a terrifying instructor in the original movie who goes to any extent to mold perfection in his students. The character is so well written and an actor like Mammootty can reprise it flawlessly. It would be also a treat for the fans to see both Mammootty and Dulquer sharing screen space for a movie.”

#Simon says, “The character Nicole is not your ordinary love trope that most romantic film directors use in their movies for the pleasure of the audience. The character is so perfectly written and has a scope for an actor to unveil his true acting potential. Coming to the Mollywood remake, Kalyani Priyadarshan could perfectly reprise the role.

#Simon says, “Looking at the inspirational nature of the story in ‘Whiplash’, one could say that the director Jis Joy would be apt to direct the Mollywood remake of the film. But what makes the ‘Home’ director Rojin Thomas deserving to don the director’s cap for the Mollywood remake is solely due to the fact that he has the knack to execute a storyline with some sort of fantasy or even surreal elements that are indeed a great quality of the director. Rojin Thomas would be perfect to direct the Mollywood remake of ‘Whiplash’ and looking at his style of naming films (‘Philips and the Monkey Pen’, ‘Home’), there won’t be any further changes in the title of the Mollywood remake too.
#Simon says, “So guys, today we have successfully passed through the most wonderful realm of ‘Whiplash’ and have checked out most of the possibilities on the film being remade in Mollywood. Hope you loved today’s episode, let’s meet next week with yet another interesting episode of #Whatif. Till then bye.”

"James Franco has an obvious physical resemblance with Fidel Castro, besides his skills and charisma," said Fernandez about the 127 Hours Oscar nominated actor of Latin-Portuguese heritage. Fernandez will be played in Alina of Cuba by Ana Villafane.
Fernandez told to a news media, "I find the selection of the cast amazing. Ana VillafaAe is extraordinarily talented, and not only as an actress, because she is also a great singer, a very complete performer. I'm sure that Mia Maestro, an actress I admire, will understand and interpret Naty, my mother, in a unique way and I can't wait to see her building her character."
The supporting cast of Alina of Cuba also includes Alanna de la Rosa, Maria Cecilia Botero, Harding Junior, and Cuban-born actors Sian Chiong and Rafael Ernesto Hernandez.
"The rest of the cast is going to be a wonderful surprise for all audiences," continued Fernandez who'll be a biographical and historical consultant on Alina of Cuba.
"To me, the most important thing about this movie is that the conversation about Cuba is alive. Personally, the experience is so far too unexpected but more than anything, humbling", she added.
