'Fantastic Four' star Julian McMahon passes away at 56 after cancer battle
Julian McMahon, most well-known for his roles in 'Fantastic Four', and 'Charmed', passed away at the age of 56. After a long battle with cancer, the star passed away on July 2. The actor's wife confirmed the news.
The 'Fantastic Four' star left for a heavenly abode on July 2 after battling cancer in Clearwater, Florida. The news was confirmed by the actor’s wife, Kelly McMahon, who shared a public statement with Deadline.
“With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” she shared in a public statement.
“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories”, she continued.
Julian McMahon was one of the most prolific actors in the entertainment industry. The star was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1968, and was born into an influential family. His father was in politics at the time and even served as the Prime Minister of Australia from 1971 to 1972.
His descent into the entertainment industry did not start with acting. He first started working as a model in the 1980s and slowly made his shift to acting. His debut was with the 1989 Australian daytime TV show, ‘The Power, the Passion’. His entry into movies came with ‘Wet and Wild Summer!’ where he starred alongside Elliott Gould in 1992.
In 1993, the actor starred in ‘Another World’, making his shift to Hollywood official with the TV series. His rise to fame mainly came after he starred as a series regular on the popular fantasy show, ‘Charmed’. He also garnered a lot of popularity after he took on the role of the infamous Dr Doom in the ‘Fantastic Four’ franchise. In recent years, his works in ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ were praised the most.
