‘Even Stevens’ star Steven Anthony Lawrence alleges he was fired for reporting a pedophile; the company issues a statement

Famed actor Steven Anthony Lawrence, who is best known for his roles in ‘The Cat in the Hat’ and ‘Even Stevens’, recently made a shocking allegation in a social media post. The former child star alleged that he was fired from the major production studio where he used to work for reporting an alleged pedophile.

Posting a photo of his official work ID card to his account over the weekend, actor Steven Anthony Lawrence stated that he was allegedly let go from his company after he reported a major incident at work. He started the post off by saying that he had been waiting for the past month to announce the news. He cited that he had been hoping for some final solution from the company’s end; however, nothing final was ever reached.


His post read, “It is with a heavy heart I have to announce that my time with Universal Studios has ended.” He further tagged his boss and HR, and cited that they wanted to “retaliate for reporting a suspected pedofile around children.”

He further shared that he loved working at the company; however, he no longer wishes to be associated with an organization that prioritizes its stars even though people are getting hurt. His post concluded, “With what I know, I WILL NEVER ALLOW MY KID TO GO TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD. Be safe, everyone.”

Production studio issues statement

Soon after the post went viral online, the company issued its own public statement to Entertainment Weekly.

The statement read, “We have investigated and reviewed the concerns brought forward by this former employee, and they were found to be inaccurate and without merit. We take all employee concerns seriously and have established processes for raising any concerns without fear of retaliation.”

Online reactions

The post went viral soon after the actor shared it online. While some of the comments encouraged and praised Lawrence for coming forward, there were others who shared a differing opinion. Many of the comments on his post cited that they were co- workers of the ‘Even Stevens’ star, and called him out for his behavior in the office.

One such comment alleged that, “Steven, you were the worst to the dressers and PA’s and other performers, you had the worst attitude every single day, seemed like you were on drugs or having a bad come down most days. You made everyone’s day worse, purposely and intentionally. Stop the lies. Get the help you need LOL.”
