There has been no official confirmation but reportedly the series is set to debut in the first half of 2024. It is expected to have ten to fifteen episodes with high-quality visuals. Further, if the reports are to be believed, the series will focus on the characters Goku and Supreme Kai. This has left many fans underwhelmed, prompting them to express their frustration on various social media platforms.

In recent times, the Dragon Ball manga has faced criticism for its repetitive formula, often featuring Goku and Vegeta unlocking new power-ups to save the world. However, the shift in focus to the adventures of Trunks and Goten had breathed new life into the series, earning praise from fans. With this shift, fans had hoped that the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga and other manga material would soon be adapted into anime. Consequently, the announcement of ‘Dragon Ball Magic; left many fans feeling disheartened.

The disappointment intensifies because ‘Dragon Ball Magic’ seems to tread on familiar ground by turning Goku and Shin into children, a premise strikingly similar to ‘Dragon Ball GT,’ where Goku was transformed into a child by Emperor Pilaf with the help of Ultimate Shenron. Unless the storytelling and production of ‘Dragon Ball Magic’ prove to be exceptional, the series appears to be on a course that mirrors the challenges faced by its predecessor.

For the unversed, ‘Dragon Ball Super’ went on hiatus in 2018 after the epic Universal Tournament Saga. During this gap, fans celebrated the success of the ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ film, which garnered worldwide acclaim, showcasing the unwavering support for well-told Dragon Ball stories.
