Veteran actor Michael Douglas is recovering from surgery after having his knee replaced.
The "Basic Instinct" star found himself limping around on the set of his forthcoming film "Solitary Man" and was instructed by doctors to go under the knife to solve the problem, reported contactmusic.com.
"I had my knee replaced, I have an artificial knee. A little bit of PVC, plastic pipes with titanium rods.

It's four weeks old," said the 64-year-old actor.
"I had a skiing accident years and years ago and it just wore down. It finally got to a point where I had a limp and I had to do it. I've got another couple of months (of recovery) but I'll be fine," he added.
Douglas is already back on his feet and he credits his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones with helping to make his recovery all the more comfortable.
"She turned out to be fantastic, it's like a test to see how good your wife is, but she's been fantastic. But I couldn't get her into the nurse's outfit," he said.
