Director Adam Marcus calls Val Kilmer 'the worst human being'; recalls his on-set behavior: 'He would have been cancelled'

Val Kilmer, the generational star who starred in varied Hollywood films, has been deemed ‘the worst human being’ by Adam Marcus, who worked with him in the film ‘Conspiracy.’ A year after the actor passed away from pneumonia at age 65, the director-screenwriter penned a disappointing post about him on Threads, recalling their time on set.

Adam Marcus and Val Kilmer collaborated in 2008 for the action-thriller film, along with Jennifer Esposito. “#MicroIntellectMonday to that time when I directed that guy. The guy who played Iceman and Doc Holiday [sic]. You know the one. Here’s me and the Putz working it out on the set of Conspiracy,” the 58-year-old director wrote in a since-deleted post, per Entertainment Weekly, attaching an image of them.

However, he quickly addressed the people who would oppose the post, stating not to speak ill of the deceased. Mentioning the users who would roll their eyes, he claimed that if Kilmer “did one-tenth of what he did on my set today, he would have been cancelled in a blink.” Concluding the note, he called Val Kilmer the “Worst human being I’ve ever known… and that is really saying something.”

Marcus is not the first media personality to have criticised the ‘Tombstone’ star. Previously, in a 1996 interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Joel Schumacher called him “childish and impossible” and a “psychologically disturbed human being” after working with him in the film ‘Batman Forever.’ Another director, John Frankenheimer, affirmed that he would never work with Val Kilmer again after they collaborated on ‘The Island of Dr. Moreau.’
