Liam Payne's ex-girlfriend Danielle Peazer revealed that the singer called her a few weeks before his fatal death. Peazer reportedly dated Payne on and off for two years until 2013. The post appeared on social media on October 20, four days after his sudden passing at the age of 31.
In the post, Peazer had mentioned that Payne had been in touch with her recently, letting her know that she was very happy about her new family life with her partner, Sonny Jay, and their baby daughter, Mia, born in May. She wrote, "Receiving a message from you a couple of weeks ago, expressing your happiness for the love I found with Sonny and Mia, is something I'll cherish forever."
The first meeting between Peazer and Payne was through the former being a dancer on 'The X Factor', where Payne was competing as one of the newly formed boy bands, One Direction. Following having an on-off relationship with him from 2012 and ending it in 2013, Peazer said that they have remained in contact and share something special. She said that he was sometimes her favorite person to be with even while they fought with each other. The truth," she said, "is that even in the midst of such serious differences as ours, we've always been able to find ways to support each other and to laugh over our past conflicts.".
In her open letter, Peazer bemoaned Payne's life, saying "I'm sorry your story didn't end differently, and I'm sorry you didn't ever get to share more of your magic with the world." She, too, talked about the lessons she garnered from him- about boundaries and keeping her heart safe.
Payne, who had a long history of alcoholism and mental health issues, fell from the balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16. This made fans shocked all over the world, and everyone around spread their grief in his tribute form. Among them were his former members of One Direction, who honored him during the memorial section for 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony on October 19.
Peazer further celebrated Payne with comments on his loved ones, more so on the 7-year-old son he shares with ex Cheryl Cole. "He always would go on about how important being a dad was to him," he said. He added that his death left an enormous void in Bear's life. "The thought there is now a child growing up without one of their parents is heartbreaking and unfair.".
In her obituary, she wrote in support of the family of Payne consisting of his parents, siblings, and his son, "My love, thoughts, and strength go to you. I can hardly even begin to say how much this loss is." Peazer's letter went on further with, "My love for you lives on and is infinite and endures. Rest easy, my friend. Love, Danielle x.
Peazer's main squeeze, Sonny Jay, commented on her post with a single red heart, indicating that he too was feeling for her during that challenging moment.
