Actor Russell Crowe who plays Robin Hood in an upcoming film seems to have been influenced by the famed generosity of his character as he gave a film crew member 5,000 pounds to buy a new car. The 'Gladiator' star who is playing the folk hero who famously robbed from the rich and gave to the poor, gave Denise Yarde 5000 pounds so she could buy a new car after her old one went up in flames, reported Mirror online.
The 45-year-old actor had initially made a joke of the accident but later apologised by giving her the amount in cash so that she could buy a new car. "But at one point, after she said about him never having to worry about buying a new car, Russell went quiet and everyone thought that was the end of it. Then later in the afternoon he sought Denise out and gave her the five grand," a source on the sets told the newspaper. The Academy winning actor who earns between 15 to 20 million pounds per film is shooting in England for the film which is being directed by Sir Ridley Scott and stars Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian.
