Chris Evans has finally reacted to new reports stating that he will return as the
superhero Captain America
, aka
Steve Rogers
for upcoming Marvel movies.
Going for the classic response, Chris tweeted, “This is news to me.”
Although not a confirmation or denial, fans flooded the actor’s handle with all sorts of gifs, memes and posts, urging him to return as the super-soldier. Tickled by the tweets coming his way, the actor wrote, “Some of the gif responses are priceless... good work, everyone.”
According to the latest reports, Chris is believed to be nearing a deal to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the beloved character. Although the deal is yet to be finalised, Deadline reported, Evans is on track to return in “at least one Marvel property with the door open for a second film.”
The return is said to be on the lines of Robert Downey Jr’s reprisal of
Iron Man
in the Tom Holland starrer ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ or even his full-fledged role in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
Chris famously bid a teary goodbye to his character after the events of ‘
Avengers
: Endgame’. The film’s plot also seemed to confirm the star’s exit with his character ageing into an old man. However, if these latest reports are anything to go by, then fans may just get to see Chris back in action in an upcoming Marvel film or even a series the streams on an OTT platform.
