'Breaking Bad' actress Betsy Brandt files for divorce after 25 years of marriage

Actress Betsy Brandt, best known for her role as Marie Schrader in the hit series 'Breaking Bad', has filed for divorce from her husband Grady Olsen after nearly 25 years of marriage.

TMZ reports that Brandt submitted the divorce paperwork earlier today, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. Much like fellow Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez, Betsy went ahead with her divorce pro per—without legal representation.

Court documents reportedly state that the couple had been separated since August 2023, bringing an end to their marriage, which began in September 1998. The actress also disclosed that she shares a 16-year-old daughter named August, with Olsen and is seeking both legal and physical custody of the child who is still a minor.



As far as the division of property is concerned, the divorce filing indicates that the couple has yet to divide their property and assets, though it remains unclear if a prenuptial agreement exists.

Betsy Brandt shot to fame through her portrayal of Marie Schrader in all 62 episodes of 'Breaking Bad'. Following the conclusion of the series in 2013, she shifted to comedy, starring as Heather Hughes in the sitcom 'Life in Pieces', appearing in 79 episodes.

Brandt also starred in The Michael J. Fox Show, which aired for one season from 2013 to 2014, alongside Michael J. Fox, Wendell Pierce, Katie Finneran, Juliette Goglia, Brooke Shields, and the late Anne Heche.

Her television credits include notable appearances in series such as Saint X, Masters of Sex, and Parenthood. Beyond her work on TV, she has also made her mark in several films.

Brandt has not yet commented publicly on the separation.
