'Avengers' star Mark Ruffalo backs 'Tax The Rich'; says 'we should tax billionaires and corporations... They can handle it'
Hollywood star Mark Ruffalo is lending his star power to the Tax The Rich campaign. After joining nearly 400 millionaires and billionaires urging world leaders to impose higher taxes on the ultra-rich, the actor took to his handle on Tuesday to share a message to Governor Kathy Hochul to 'Tax the Rich! For a New York we can afford."
He went on to add, "Governor Kathy Hochul has a choice to make. You protect working families, and tax the rich, or make Trump's cuts worse by forcing everyday people to pay more. 60% of New Yorkers, like me, agree that we should tax billionaires and corporations to fund childcare, housing and transit. Working people shouldn't be the ones always stuck with the bill."
Ruffalo concluded the video saying, "This Wednesday, February 25th, thousands of folks are going to Albany to send Kathy Hochul one clear message: Tax the Rich for New York that we can all afford. They can handle it. Trust me."

Turning the spotlight on the Governor, he said in a video message, "In New York, rent is crushing people. Childcare now costs over USD 20,000 a year on average. Trump's policies keep making billionaires richer. Well, working families in dirt cuts to essential services. So last year, over a million New Yorkers came together to vote for Mayor Mamdani's affordability agenda. So who's getting in the way?"He went on to add, "Governor Kathy Hochul has a choice to make. You protect working families, and tax the rich, or make Trump's cuts worse by forcing everyday people to pay more. 60% of New Yorkers, like me, agree that we should tax billionaires and corporations to fund childcare, housing and transit. After the release of his film 'Crime 101', Mark will next be seen in 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', starring opposite Tom Holland. The actor, who plays the Hulk, is rumoured to play a major role in the fourth Spider-Man film, but is notably absent in the cast list of the upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday'.
