Angelina Jolie reportedly delayed divorce to hurt Brad Pitt emotionally and financially

Angelina Jolie has been accused of deliberately prolonging her divorce from Brad Pitt to cause him emotional and financial distress, reportedly walking away with a hefty $80 million settlement. According to Radar Online, sources claim that Jolie rejected multiple settlement offers from Pitt over the years, extending the divorce proceedings to nearly eight years.

An insider revealed that Pitt had tried to end the divorce amicably by making generous financial offers. However, Jolie allegedly instructed her lawyers to refuse these offers, aiming to “punish” Pitt. The source stated, “She dragged out the process until Brad was worn down and eventually agreed to pay any amount she demanded.”

The Maleficent actress reportedly left the marriage significantly wealthier. This includes the $11.5 million she earned from selling a Winston Churchill painting that Pitt had gifted her in 2011. “Angelina has come out of this divorce much richer than before,” the source added.

The couple’s 2016 split also involved a bitter custody battle over their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. Reports suggest that Jolie resisted Pitt’s efforts to secure joint custody, leading to a strained relationship between Pitt and his children. Sources claim that most of the kids now have minimal contact with their father. The insider alleged, “Angelina succeeded in alienating the children from Brad. Four of them have even dropped his surname.”

Despite these challenges, Pitt is reportedly feeling relieved that the long divorce proceedings are over. A source close to him said, “Brad feels like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. He’s focusing on his future and wants to move on.”

The Bullet Train actor is also said to be planning his future with his girlfriend, jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, and is reportedly considering marriage later this year.
