There is good news for the fans of Dune. The sequel will be out by the end of 2023 and production is underway. The sequel for the first film is an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s book of the same name, which he wrote in 1965.

The star cast will reprise their roles in the sequel besides two more known faces that include Christopher Walken and Florence Pugh. The lead actor, Timothee Chalamet, called Florence really special and was excited that she had joined the team. Filming for Part 2 was wrapped up earlier this month.
How is it going to be different from the first film? Javier Bardem, who is acting in the film, told the audience at the 2022 Cannes film festival that the sequel will “surprise people.” The sequel portrays the second half of Frank Herbert’s book.

Denis Villeneuve, the director of the first film, is also directing and writing the second part. As in the first film, the cast went back to Budapest, Abu Dhabi and Jordan to film the sequel. A part of the sequel was also filmed in Italy.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of the second film.

Dune, the epic science fiction film that was released in October 2021, to much critical acclaim, received 10 Academy Award nominations and won 6 Oscar awards, including for cinematography, editing, score, visual effects, production design and sound.
