Director
Sam Raimi, who is returning to the superhero genre with
Benedict Cumberbatch and
Elizabeth Olsen's '
Doctor Strange In the Multiverse Of Madness
', has another superhero film on his wishlist.
Opening up to Empire magazine, the director expressed his desire to shoot a
Batman
film. "I've always loved Batman. If I ever saw the Batsignal up in the air, I’d come running," he said.
Raimi further added, "If I heard that deep, gurgling laugh of The Shadow coming from the darkness, I would also tentatively step outside. And
Spider-Man
would be ahead of Doctor Strange, but I don't want to put him down the list!"
For the director, life has come around full circle as he is gearing up for the May release of Doctor Strange which was first mentioned in his film 'Spider-Man 2'.
Initially, Scott Derrickson, who directed the first 'Doctor Strange' movie, was set to return for the sequel but left due to creative differences.
The film will introduce the multiverse-powered character of America Chavez, played by
Xochitl Gomez
and is also expected to bring back characters of Charles Xavier, Deadpool, Wolverine, Ultimate Iron Man and many others.
