Did you know Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill gave an audition to play James Bond?

The newest trailer from the spy James Bond spy series, 'Not Time to Die' was launched yesterday and it is packed with a good dose of action, thrill and suspense. With Daniel Craig in the lead, this drama features a masked baddie and a whole lot of typical ‘Bond’ stuff. And while fans eagerly wait for the 25th film from the franchise to hit the screens, here’s a little trivia about the spy series.
Interestingly before Timothy Dalton, who played Bond in the 15^th instalment of the popular series, it was another Hollywood star who was almost cast to play the iconic character. ‘Jurrasic Park’ star Sam Neill had revealed in an interview how he was pushed to audition for the lead role in ‘The Living Daylights’ by his agent. The actor further added that the test was embarrassing as he didn’t want to play James Bond. In the audition tape, Sam is seen entering a bedroom and introducing himself to a lady as “Bond, James Bond.”
In the past actors like Clint Eastwood, Hugh Jackman and Cary Grant have been speculated to have been approached for the spy series.
