Interestingly before Timothy Dalton, who played Bond in the 15th instalment of the popular series, it was another Hollywood star who was almost cast to play the iconic character. ‘Jurrasic Park’ star Sam Neill had revealed in an interview how he was pushed to audition for the lead role in ‘The Living Daylights’ by his agent. The actor further added that the test was embarrassing as he didn’t want to play James Bond. In the audition tape, Sam is seen entering a bedroom and introducing himself to a lady as “Bond, James Bond.”
In the past actors like Clint Eastwood, Hugh Jackman and Cary Grant have been speculated to have been approached for the spy series.
