Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes is back and with a bang. His recently released war drama which gives us a glimpse of the World War I has been winning over the audience as well as the critics. The film which is nominated for the Oscar for Best Film has managed to excel in India as well.

According to the latest Box Office India report, the war drama has been doing a good business in Indian metros like Mumbai, Delhi and South which contribute around 90% of the total collection. The report further suggested that the film is mainly being screened at the premium multiplexes with nearly 150 screens.

The second-weekend numbers of '1917' were similar to the first weekend and has been doing a good business. The film has also maintained its screens in India despite new Hindi releases as the Oscar nomination has given it a further boost.

and Andrew Scott. The film has already won two prestigious awards at the 77th Golden Globe Awards and is touted as the underdog in the Oscars race.
