Composer-entrepreneur Diesel Dan steps into production with ‘Faraar’
From balance sheets in Sweden to burning studio nights in Mumbai, composer-serial entrepreneur Diesel Dan’s journey has never been ordinary. It has always been about risk. About rhythm. About rebellion with purpose. After building his music label, Diesel Artist Network Pvt Ltd, and shaping international collaborations like Bella Cio, Diesel Dan found himself at a bigger crossroads — not just composing, not just producing songs, but stepping into cinema as a producer. He collaborated with Iván Lacámara on Bella Cio, known for his work on Money Heist, working on the track’s musical layer to ensure the score aligns with the pace and mood of the heist narrative. “We did not just tweak it,” Diesel Dan says. “We recomposed it. We redesigned it. We made it breathe cinema.” The structure was ready. The sound had edge. What they needed was the right voice. The right energy. Enter Sunidhi Chauhan, Sanchari Sengupta and Swedish vocalist Jules Vikström. Their vocals lifted the track into something intense and cinematic. The song also blends bansuri and tabla with electronic beats, creating a fusion of Indian classical sound and contemporary production.
“Director Kushagruha Sharma wanted a title that felt explosive. Energetic. Something that carries global drama,” Diesel Dan says. “It could not be soft. It had to run. It had to escape. That’s how the song Faraar was born,” he elaborates. Diesel Dan then went on to compose the title track as a solo composition. He designed it to match the emotional brief, building the structure and shaping the soundscape. What began as one version evolved into a powerful cinematic anthem. The title track, composed by Diesel Dan and sung by Siddharth Basrur and Priya Nair, became the musical spine of Faraar. But he did not stop at composing. “I have always had the acumen for entrepreneurship,” he shares. “I was looking for equal opportunities. This felt right. If I believed in the music and the story, why not back the film too?” He then stepped in as producer, collaborating with Anuj Sharma on the project. The film is produced by Diesel Artist Network Pvt Ltd along with Thundersky Entertainment. Faraar stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a physics professor drawn into a high-stakes heist, alongside Ilia Volok as the antagonist. The film also features Nimisha Sajayan, along with National Award-winning child artistes Trisha and Gabi Chehel. For Diesel Dan, this is more than a debut — it is a statement. “I do not want to be seen only as a creative person, or only as a finance guy. I am both. And that is my unique strength.” Few artists enter Bollywood with equal command over melody and money. Diesel Dan does. With Faraar, backed by Diesel Artist Network alongside Thundersky Entertainment, he is not just composing songs — he is building a legacy in cinema, one that will last a melodious lifetime.
