At her New York apartment, it’s not just shoes that need to stay at the door; your entire outfit might have to go too! Dropping in at her place may not always be a casual meet-and-greet, but a full-fledged costume change.

No shoes. No germs. No exceptions

On The Drew Barrymore Show, Diaz didn’t even hesitate when asked about her biggest ick. “Shoes from the street in New York City,” she said, like she’d just remembered something traumatic. Drew Barrymore immediately jumped in with, “If you want to go into her house, put a body condom on.” Honestly, not far off. Diaz laughed but didn’t deny it. “You have to change your clothes to come into my house in New York,” she laughed. So yes, if one has to visit her, they better carry a spare outfit. Or two. Just to be safe.

I roll around on my floors: Cameron

Barrymore swears Diaz’s house is basically germ-proof, which makes sense given the entry requirements. And Diaz? She’s fully leaning into it. “Yeah, I roll around on my floors. It’s okay,” she said, because of course she does. At this point, those floors are probably cleaner than most people’s dinner plates. So, if Cameron Diaz invites anyone over, the question isn’t “What should I bring?” It is, “What should I wear… and what’s my backup outfit?”
