Shakti Kapoor will soon be seen in the Bhojpuri
film
'
Lady Singham
'. He will be playing a pivotal role in the
Rani Chatterjee and Gaurav Jha-starrer action-drama. The actress will be seen playing the role of a lady police officer and is said to have performed some impressive action stunts in the movie.
Shakti Kapoor, who will be seen playing a negative role, opened up about his character in the film. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, he said, "'Lady Singham' is a very good and very well made film, I even suggested makers initially to dub it in
Hindi
as well. My character in the film is that of a powerful guy who likes having all the powers in his pocket. He runs several illegal businesses under the cover of being a social worker".
Talking about the difficulties he faced while mastering the
Bhojpuri
language, the Bollywood actor stated, "I have spoken and dubbed in Bhojpuri for the first time and it was very difficult for me. We have completed the shoot and dubbing too but yet I feel like I am still learning the Bhojpuri language.”
Sharing the experience of working with co-star Rani Chatterjee, Shakti Kapoor praised her work and said, "She is an amazing actor and dancer. Apart from this, she is very good at action scenes and performs stunts as well as any male action hero in the film."
The makers started shooting for the film on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, last year. 'Lady Singham' is jointly produced by Sarla A. Saraogi and Rahul Sharma. Directed by Dilip Gulati, the makers have not officially announced the release date of the film yet.
