Yash Kumar on Akanksha Dubey's suicide: Maybe something happened that's why her boyfriend Samar Singh's phone is off

Early today, Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey committed suicide at a hotel in Banaras. The actress hanged herself in one of the rooms of Hotel Sarnath.

Reportedly, Akanksha's makeup boy found her hanging after he went to call her to the room. The actress was shooting for the new film 'Nayak' in Varanasi. An incident took place around 9 am.

While speaking to ETimes exclusively, Yash Kumar, who gave her the first Bhojpuri film, said, "I was the person who brought her to the industry. I cast Akanksha in my first film as a producer and it was also her debut in the Bhojpuri cinema. While shooting the last film with her, I didn't see any such things happening in her mind."

The actor further added, "I was shooting the film when I got this sad news. And now, my wife and I both are crying along with the crew on the set. Yes, we all know that she was dating Samar Singh but I don't know the truth behind this incident. They were dating each other for many years or maybe even married, I don't know. Maybe something happened that's why Samar's phone is off. Samar and his whole team member's phone is off."

"I only want to say that you did a very wrong thing by saying goodbye to us goodbye like this, Akanksha. A few months back, I called her to discuss a film. Sadly, she is not with us today", Kumar said.

Akanksha Dubey and Yash Kumar recently wrapped up the shoot of 'Mitti'. The movie also stars Raksha Gupta in the pivotal role. It is directed by Chandan Upadhyay and produced by Arvind Prasad and Prem Shanker.
