The Rap Kings!

The meteoric rise of many rappers including Raftaar, Badshah, Honey Singh, Divine, Brodha V, and many others has encouraged so many aspiring indie artists. The result is Hip Hop music has now almost become synonymous with Indian pop music, blurring the lines between the two genres. Take the soundtrack of ‘Gully Boy’, which had a lot of rap numbers. Once considered a niche genre, the success of the Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt starrer and its music cemented rap’s wide appeal, as people across generations swayed to ‘Apna Time Aayega’ and ‘Meri Gully Mein’. While rap culture is slowly but steadily becoming one of the most significant aspects of young culture and expanding at a rapid rate here’s a quick look at the top 5 Indian rappers right now and their unbelievable net worth.

Yo Yo Honey Singh

Often credited for mixing pop music with Hip Hop, Yo Yo Honey Singh is a revolutionary figure in Indian rap music. Born in Hoshiarpur (Punjab) on 15 March 1983 into a Punjabi family, his popular hits like ‘Brown Ran’g, ‘Breakup Party’, and ‘This Party Gettin Hot’ are some of the most famous party songs. With his outrageous lyrics and high-voltage beats, Honey Singh has produced music for innumerable Bollywood movies which made him a household name.

According to reports, Yo Yo Honey Singh’s net worth is $25 Million

Badshah

It’s safe to say that Badshah is one of the most bankable names in the Indian music industry at present, the man every Bollywood producer reaches out to when he needs a guaranteed hit. The 31-year-old rapper-producer’s tracks have become a ubiquitous part of our soundscape, blaring out from car speakers, nightclub Pubs, and at wedding parties. “Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai”, “Aaj Raat Ka Scene”, “DJ Waley Babu”, “Chull” and the list goes on and on.

As per reports, Badshah’s net worth is $5 Million.

Brodha V

Back in 2012, when Vighnesh Shivanand aka Brodha V released his song Aathma Raama he had no idea it would take on a life of its own. The song blends English rap with shlokas, a combination that was rather unheard of in the Indian independent music scene at the time. Fast forward to a decade, and Aathma Raama is still relevant. Every other day, a new listener discovers the magic of the song. Brodha V himself has grown from an experimental rap artist to having one million listeners worldwide. His hits include singles like Aigiri Nandini, Indian Flava and Let Em Talk.

Brodha V’s net worth is approximately $1 Million – $5 Million.

5/6

Bohemia

In the early 2000s, a non-Indian man gave Indian hip-hop scene the spark it required badly. Bohemia (Roger David), a Pakistani American rapper living in California, along with a hip-hop producer Sha One (Seth Agress), came up with their debut album 'Vich Pardesan De'. His rise to prominence came with his first full-length Punjabi rap album 'Pesa Nasha Pyar’. It became a sensational hit across India. Bohemia inspired many, and soon, a group of five individuals, including Yo Yo Honey Singh, Lil Golu, Badshah, Raftaar, and Ikka.

The hugely popular rapper’s net worth is reportedly $ 4 million.

Divine

Divine aka Vivian Fernandes started his journey as an underground rapper more than a decade ago. His initial songs were in English, but soon the talented singer started rapping in Hindi. In 2013 he released the song ‘Yeh Mera Bombay’ which gave him immense popularity. However, his song ‘Mere Gully Mein’, released in 2019 featuring fellow Mumbai rapper Naezy, was the breakthrough piece for Divine. Zoya Akhtar and her film ‘Gulley Boy’ had a major role to play in throwing the spotlight on the underground rapping scene in India, and soon it became the masses for entertainment.

Divine’s net worth is approximately $1 million.
