Kolkata theatre lovers all set for an entertaining Saturday

The city’s theatre lovers can head to

Minerva Theatre

today and watch two back to back plays, which promises to keep the audience entertained till the final bell.


The first theatre is by the

Indraranga

group and is titled

Allauddin O Padmabati

. The story of the play is based on a story by author

Bimal Lama

. Allauddin O Padmabati is directed by Indrajit Chakraborty.

Talking about the story line of the play, Indrajit said, “The story is based on a story by Bimal Lama set in the backdrop of Purulia. The adaptation is in a modern perspective and shows the love story between Allauddin and Padmabati. Coming from two different religious backgrounds, the play shows the obstacles faced by the couple when they decide to get married.”

The next play is titled

Mahabidya

, inspired by a Manoj Mitra play. This is being directed by

Prithwish Rana

.
