is bringing one of the

Agatha Christie

’s short stories to the stage. Directed by

Kishore Sengupta

, the group has named the play

Tomar Kono Satya Nei

. “It is a famous story that has later been made into a play and a film. It is a courtroom mystery and we do not want to reveal the name of the book until our first show,” said Anindya Bandyopadhyay, one of the key members of the group.

Kaberi Basu

has translated and penned the script. Besides Anindya and Kishore, several other actors, including Madhumita Banerjee and Anupam Chakraborty, will be featured in the play.
In the play, Emily French, a rich woman residing at 27/2 Russel Street, is murdered. Kapil Bhowal, a young engineer, is arrested for this murder. In the course of cross examination of several witnesses, the circumstantial evidence gathered by the court is enough to condemn Kapil. The most prominent criminal lawyer of the city, Wilo O'Brian, in his search for the truth, has lost direction in the maze. The deposition of his devoted wife Rumni further adds to the complication. The play revolves around the pursuit of truth.
The play will premiere on August 13 at Academy of Fine Arts auditorium.
