Swapnasandhani stages its last show of Taraye Taraye

The play will again be staged once more at Nandikar Festival

Swapnasandhani

staged the last show of Taraye Taraye on Sunday at a city auditorium. “This was the last show staged by us as a group. There will be another show in

Nandikar

’s National theatre Festival with Anjanda (Dutt, who plays Van Gogh in Taraye Taraye),” said the director, Kaushik Sen.
It was a packed auditorium that witnessed an emotional curtain call after the show. The members of Swapnasandhani offered flowers to Anjan, who collaborated with Kaushik for the first time. “I have always produced theatre with my own troupe. As an actor, at 64, I felt the need to work under a much younger theatre director for the first time... I chose Kaushik Sen and his troupe Swapnasandhani. I wanted to experience the same joy or crises as I do when I work with younger film directors of today. Like Srijit Mukherjee, Arindam Sil, Pratim D. Gupta, Arijit Biswas... I wanted to pay respect to theatre, my first love, just as an actor. I enjoyed every bit of it and am truly grateful to the cast and crew for helping me unlearn many things. Riddhi Sen, I truly loved every moment on the stage working with you. Thank you all... (sic),” Anjan wrote on social media later.
