Swapnasandhani launches new poster of 1984

launched the poster of its upcoming production, 1984, at

Minerva

theatre on Sunday. Based on

George Orwell

’s eponymous novel, the play is directed by thespian Debesh Chattopadhyay — a guest director of the group. “I am grateful to Kaushik (Sen, director of Swapnasandhani) for having faith in me. I worked here as if I was working in my own production house,” said Debesh. “I have contemporised the novel based on today’s India. The content that is disturbing me the most in the country is what you’ll find in the play,” he added. Besides Debesh, who also designed the poster, other crew members also spoke on the occasion. This is the second poster of the play that was launched by the group.
