The phone hasn’t stopped ringing for
Riddhi Sen after he won the National Award as the Best Actor this year. The most surprising of them them all was perhaps a call from
Shekhar Kapur, who was also the chairperson of the 65th National Film Awards jury. “He called up and congratulated me the very next day. He told me, ‘I was surprised to see you on screen. I was wondering why he isn’t making any mistake.
By the end of the film, you convinced me that you are the character’. And I was in seventh heaven! He also asked me to keep him posted about my projects,” Riddhi told us.
The 9-year-old actor won the award for his performance as a transgender in
Kaushik Ganguly’s Nagarkirtan.
