Shantilal spends his birthday with family

Shantilal Mukherjee turns a year younger. The veteran actor celebrated a

lockdown

birthday at home on Wednesdaqy. “We are all locked indoor. Just a few houses away there are two families that are tested Covid 19 positive. We are not stepping out unless it is absolutely necessary, especially as long as lockdown is there. Hence, I’ll spend my day with my family. During the lockdown, every day seems to be a family occasion and I quite like it that way,” the actor said.

And what’s on the menu, we asked. “I hear my wife will make my favourite long-awaited dish, mutton kosha and luchi. I’ll wait for that,” he said.

Shantilal and his son, Rwitobroto, have recently performed in a

digital theatre

together with Abhrajit Sen and his team of the Whole Nine Yards. Abhrajit translated

Tagore

’s Daak Ghar and presented it in a digital theatre format with Rwitobroto and Shantilal Mukherjee in the lead. Shantilal will also be seen in Anshuman Pratyush's SOS Kolkata with Mimi Chakraborty, Yash and Nusrat Jahan.
