Mukherji is all set to stage this year’s production with the new team of SMPAI Natyagoshthi. Penned by the actor, the play, Chingari, is directed by Arna Mukhopadhyay. “It is a political play. The story delves into the current state of student politics in West Bengal. There are around 22 characters, all youngsters,” Samrat said. In a unique attempt, Samrat and his team have created a music video to promote the play. “Penned by Sanjeev Tiwari and composed by Pratik Karmakar, it is sung by Rik Basu. I don’t think creating a music video to promote a play is a common scene in Kolkata,” Samrat added.
