The Bard of Avon is never too old. A discussion and play to commemorate the 450th birth anniversary of William Shakespeare saw a select audience lapping up a great spread and some culture curry. Presented by Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, the event featured actor Biplab Dasgupta, who read out excerpts of
The Merchant of Venice, Othello and
Hamlet. Prior to the acts, an audience interaction took place to understand the relevance of the Bard’s works in the city’s social and political context.
