Kamaleswar gears up for next show of Play House
After a successful run of six shows, the actors of the Kamaleswar Mukherjee-directed drama, Play House, are gearing up to stage the next show in early February.
Adopted from Swiss writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s A Dangerous Game (Die Panne), the script is written by Padmanabha Dasgupta, who is also playing the lead role. The play will be staged by the group, Shailushik.
“Dürrenmatt’s play has been adapted widely all over the world; the closest of all for us is perhaps Vijay Tendulkar’s Marathi play, Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe,” Kamaleswar told us. “Padmanabha has not only translated the play from English, he has also contemporised it,” the director added.
