Elaborating on the journey, the director said, “My father (Soumitra Chatterjee) penned the script in 1987. Back then, he even directed a few shows. In 2015, when I was looking for a script, I read this one and realised that it was extremely relevant today. We staged it in September 2015. It has been an emotional ride. I think it is the audience that kept the play alive. So many people from all over the state have watched the play. Also, Team Fera is like family. There are 24 people on stage and it was amazing to be with them. Our team spirit is outstanding.”
Poulami is also gearing up for her new play, Andhayug, based Dharamvir Bharti’s work by the same name. It is translated by Ajitesh Bandyopadhyay’s sister Pranata Bandyapadhyay. “It is a classic. Several groups have staged it at different points in time. The National School of Drama too has staged it many times. Ajiteshbabu directed it for Obhinetri Sangha and my father acted in it too. Now we are doing it again,” said Poulomi, who will be acting in it alongside

Debshankar

and Rajat Ganguly. The play will be staged in March 2020.
