Ichheymoto brings adda over arts everyday
Amid the lockdown, the theatre workers of Ichheymoto have introduced an online exchange of arts. A day after the lockdown was implemented, the group has started this project, Ghoroa Artdda (a homely adda over arts, as they explained it) in which people from various walks of life forwarded a creative piece. “While some sang, some read out poems and some played musical instruments,” said Saurav Palodhi, director of Ichheymoto.

Elaborating on the initiative, he added, “From Rabindrasangeet to parody — we are receiving all sorts of creative pieces. We are posting five such posts every day. In seven days, we have posted 35. On World Theatre day, March 27, Neelda (Sujan Mukhopadhyay) sang a song of Jagannath for us. It is written by Arun mukhopadhyay. Besides, Debesh Chattopadhyay, Rwitobrito Mukhopadhyay, Aparajita Ghosh, singer Satadal Chattopadhyay, Khnada Bhattacherjee and several others also sent us their piece. Meanwhile, musician Debdeep Mukherjee read out a Sukumar Roy poem. It was fun.”
According to the Ichheymoto team, there are still 700 posts to be screened. “We are getting such pieces every day. Not just the celebrities or well-known people, a lot of common people are sending their love. The most interesting one so far came from an 85-year-old woman, Nilima Bhattacharya. She sang a Rabindrasangeet and we are overjoyed,” Saurav added.
