Debesh Chattopadhyay's first venture with Swapnasandhani

Thespian Debesh Chattopadhyay is busy directing his first play with team Swapnasandhani. “This is first in many ways — I’m the first guest director for the group, Lal (Suman Mukhopadhyay) will do the set design for the group for the first time, and last but not the least, this is collaboration between Baban (Kaushik Sen), Lal and me that has never happened before,” said the director.
Based on George Orwell’s 1984, the play is Debesh’s take on the vigilance and surveillance of a totalitarian state.“Orwell novel talks about a dystopian state where ‘big brother watches you’ all the time. This is something I wanted to portray in my play. There are no guest actors in the play. All are the youngsters of Swapnasandhani,” the director added.
