Chetana to publish its first-ever theatre journal

On its 46th anniversary, theatre group Chetana is planning to publish its first-ever theatre journal. “Many other theatre groups have their annual journal, but we never had. This year, we wanted to publish one,” said the director, Sujan Mukhopadhyay, who will be editing the journal along with Tarun Bhattacharya, a senior member of the group. Artist Hiran Mitra has designed the cover of the journal.“We have asked several eminent personalities to write for us and the list is long. We have approached Sankha Ghosh, Kabir Suman, Srijato, Bratya Basu, Kaushik Sen, Biplab Bandyopadhyay, Sohini Sengupta, Poulomi Chatterjee, Kanchan Mullick, Saurav Palodhi, Meghnad Bhattacharya, Bibhash Chakraborty and many others. While most of them have agreed to write for us, many have already submitted their pieces,” Sujan said, adding, “Meanwhile, I have interviewed Mohan Agashe. That too will be published there. He has seen our Ghashiram Kotwal and he was overjoyed.” The journal will be published during its theatre festival in November.
