It’s going to be a feast for theatre lovers on September 20.
Nandikar
is all set to stage two of its productions,
Mrityunjay
and
Bahoner Baynakka
at Academy of Fine Arts. Mrityunjay, directed by
Sohini Sengupta, stars
Saptarshi Maulik in the lead. It is the story of a fallen angel, who can’t express his emotions. Suffering from cerebral palsy, words and poems fill up his heart and mind. His wishes and dreams take the form of words and transcend into beautiful butterflies, flapping their wings into glory.
While Mriyunjay has been performed several times, Bahoner Baynakka will premiere on that date. Directed by Arghya Dey Sarkar, it’s about the extended family members of Maa Durga — Lion, Mouse, Owl, Peacock, Swan, etc. From the looks of it, it will be quite a treat before Durga Puja.
