Rana Sarkar files complaint over copyrighted film name

Ashbo and this title is similar to our film titled as Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbo Na. I have copyrights on the name Ranajana Ami Ashbo, so it violates The Copyright Act, 1957 and other applicable laws of land,” said Sarkar. He added, “I have requested EIMPA not to register the title without our consent. Since Shrikant Mohta, who is producing the film is also President of EIMPA, we are apprehending that there may be some influence in the process of registration of the title which will be illegal and against the ethics of an esteemed organisation like EIMPA. We hope EIMPA will be neutral, unbiased and authentic in its status.”
