Veteran singer Sandhya Mukhopadhyay hospitalised with Covid

Veteran singer Sandhya Mukhopadhyay tested Covid positive on Thursday. She was admitted to SSKM hospital with chest congestion and related health complications earlier on the day. According to sources in the family, her oxygen saturation level, too, is fluctuating. She underwent a Covid test this afternoon and the results came in the evening. She will be transferred to a private hospital later today. “While no member at her residence has been stepping out, one of her aides contracted Covid recently. We are not sure if didi (Sandhya Mukhopadhyay) contracted it from her. There is a congestion in her chest and her oxygen saturation level has dropped. She was stable when she was put on oxygen support. She is currently under medical supervision at the hospital. She did not have breathing difficulties as of now,” shared one of her close aides. On Tuesday, after the Government of India announced the list of Padma Awardees of 2022, Sandhya Mukhopadhyay’s family refused the honour on her behalf.
