Upal, Sidhu, Anindya celebrate World Music Day on the same stage

The dwindling live acts in the city are a cause of concern. But musicians are trying hard to not let the glum state of affairs get the better of them.
On the eve of World Music Day, UpalSengupta, Prashmita Paul and SatadalChatterjee came together for a heartwarming show — GaanAbohomaan — which left the audience yearning for more. The trio, accompanied by a host of musicians, belted out original numbers, apart from some all-time favourites like Chandrabindoo'sBhyabachaka.

They were joined in by Sidhu, Silajit, AnindyaChattopadhyay and Anindya Bose.
“I had told Upal last year that I would like to be part of GaanAbohomaan and I'm really happy to share the stage with them," said Sidhu, who sang Sunyothekeshurushob-i. The day being the 15th death anniversary of GautamChattopadhyay, the singers also paid a tribute to the master with a song from MoheenerGhoraguli. DebajyotiMishra and Joy Sarkar were seen having a gala time as the former was often heard saying, 'apurbo, apurbo' to the performances.
As the evening drew to a close, all the singers clambered up onto the stage and concluded the show with Ek je chhilo raja. The song stayed long after the lights had dimmed...
